The battle continues: Organizing Public Consultations on the draft law amending Law No. 108/2016 on natural gas

Following the address of the natural gas suppliers operating on the competitive market to the MPs of the Republic of Moldova, on 15.11.2023 at the invitation of Mariana Lucrețeanu, MP, public consultations were held on the draft law amending the Law on natural gas No. 108 of 27.05.2016.
During the consultations, the position of suppliers was presented regarding the inconsistency of the proposed amendments with the provisions of the European legislation in the field of natural gas (Directive 2009/73/EC), the adoption of which will block the liberalization of the natural gas market in the Republic of Moldova.
It was thus agreed to continue consultations within the Committee on Economy, Budget and Finance.
Subsequently, the Committee on Economy, Budget and Finance announced public consultations on the draft law on amending Law No. 108/2016 on natural gas (No. 389 of 01.11.2023).
