Reorganization of a legal entity is one of the forms of creation or liquidation of a company, as a result of which the legal status of the company is terminated or changed and rights and obligations of one legal entity are transferred to another.

During the reorganization of a legal entity its property and other assets are transferred with minimal tax consequences. This process is a way of creating a new company based the assets of an existing one. It is often used as a means of dividing assets between several companies. The reorganization procedure can be applied when it is urgent to terminate the activities of the old company, and all its assets should be transferred to an existing or newly created one.

In accordance with the current legislation of the Republic of Moldova, the reorganization of a legal entity is carried out by means of integration (merger and accession), splitting (separation and allocation) or transformation.
